Every year, we plan a family vacation to see new places together. Last year, we chose to visit different spots in the United States. There are lots of good places for families with all kinds of things to do. You can relax on the beaches in Florida, have fun at theme parks in California, or enjoy nature in national parks.

These vacations can be easy on your budget and simple to plan. Based on my experience, I have decided to share the specialties of all the spots. So, when planning your next trip, consider these best family vacations in the US.

Best Family Vacations In The US

Whatever the interests of your family, there’s a low-cost holiday destination waiting to be discovered right here in the US.

Orlando, Florida

Walt Disney World Resort, known for its timeless appeal, thrill rides, and entertainment performances, Orlando is designed specifically for families. Because of its popularity, you’ll probably want to visit during a less-crowded month, such as January, February, or September.

Orlando also has a few other theme parks that will appeal to young people, such as Universal Orlando Resort. Discovery Cove and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter are two all-inclusive day resorts where you can swim with dolphins and snorkel around the park’s coral reef.

New York City, New York

New York City, among the best cities to visit with kids provides nonstop entertainment for families, with museums, Broadway shows, and every type of restaurant imaginable. If you enjoy shopping, FAO Schwarz and Dylan’s Candy Bar are great options. Furthermore, if you’re here with your children, places like the Hudson River Greenway and Central Park will help them feel more energetic.

Aside from that, Niagara Falls is a must-see destination for anyone seeking outdoor adventure. If you want to get up close and personal with the falls, visit Cave of the Winds, a stunning natural cave behind Bridal Veil Falls.

San Diego, California

There are no bored children in sunny San Diego, the best place to go on family vacation. With sunny beaches, fantastic theme parks, and the world’s largest comic book convention, the area is a hotspot for those looking for fun things to do in San Diego.

Parents will enjoy interacting with exotic animals, splashing through waterfront fountains, and marveling at towering Lego sculptures alongside their children. In general, many family-friendly activities will not leave adults just staring at their smartphones.

New Orleans, Louisiana

New Orleans, among the best US cities to visit with kids, is a vibrant and culturally rich city with something for everyone. The city is also known for its delicious (and affordable!) cuisine, with local favorites like beignets and po’ boys taking the spotlight.

It is easy to spend hours wandering through the historic French Quarter or visiting attractions such as the Audubon Aquarium of the Americas and the Audubon Zoo. To be honest, the place is great for having fun with your family.

Williamsburg, VA

Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1632 and is the site of some of the most significant events in the American Revolution. This city is one of America’s most treasured historical sites, and it provides an exciting trip back in time.

You could also visit Busch Gardens, Williamsburg’s premier theme park. Riding rollercoasters, attending a theater performance, or viewing zoo animals. Aside from that, you can visit Colonial Williamsburg and walk through buildings dating back to the 18th century. Walk inside to get a sense of what town life was like many years ago.

Maui, Hawaii

Maui exudes tropical charm with its golden sand, clear water, and swaying palm trees. So you can read a good book while your kids build sandcastles and play in the waves together.

The Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea welcomes guests of all ages, with multiple pools, children’s programming, and babysitting services. If you’re planning a family beach vacation, Maui is a good option.

Branson, Missouri

Branson is full of free activities for both adults and children, such as Branson Landing, which features a variety of shops, restaurants, a spectacular water and fire show, and Lake Taneycomo beaches.

The city is also known for its live entertainment, which includes music shows with both local and national acts, as well as theater performances. When visiting, don’t miss the famous Silver Dollar City, a theme park with rides and attractions, as well as the Titanic Museum, which provides a unique perspective on the historic ship.

Gatlinburg, Tennessee

Gatlinburg is a popular family vacation destination due to its proximity to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, endless outdoor recreation opportunities, and scenic attractions.

Furthermore, you can take your children to the 400-foot panoramic observation deck or ride the aerial cable car from the slopeside amusement park Ober Gatlinburg to downtown. If your children enjoy exploring nature, this is the place for them.

Gulf Shores, Alabama

Do you live near any bodies of water? Make your way to Gulf Shores. At Gulf State Park, your entire family can spend the day splashing in the ocean and laying on the warm sand, as well as enjoying a swimming pool, kayaking, hiking, a butterfly garden, and other activities.

You’ll have a variety of lodging options, such as spacious vacation homes and oceanfront condo rentals. Other popular attractions include the Cool Shots Selfie Museum, the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo, and Waterville USA Water Park.

Tucson, AZ

Tanque Verde in Tucson, Arizona, is a popular dude ranch destination for families. It has amazing trails that lead through deserts and mountains. Moreover, it is ideal for children who enjoy riding horses and want to improve their skills.

Even beginners can learn the fundamentals of horseback riding here. The ranch has a daily kids’ club where they can learn about horses and do arts and crafts. If you become sore from riding, there is a spa to help you relax. You can also visit Tucson to see museums, sample local coffee and beer, and admire the beautiful desert plants such as saguaros, barrel cacti, and prickly pear.
