In the centre of Los Angeles, on 4,210 acres, sits the enormous urban paradise known as Griffith Park. As one of the biggest municipal parks in the country, it combines wild chaparral-covered vistas with finely designed picnic spaces. It is located in the eastern Santa Monica Mountains. The park’s heights range from 384 to 1,625 feet above sea level and offer spectacular views all along the way.

In this land with an arid environment, there are many different kinds of plant communities, from the tough coastal sage scrub to the calm oak and walnut forests. Inside the park, deep canyons are filled with rich riparian plants that stand out against the dry surroundings. As a plant explorer, Griffith Park is really one of my favourite places to explore different kinds of natural plants that are rare now. The plus point here is that you will find all the best hikes and trails in Griffith Park that welcome you to the natural calm sceneries.
